Culture, identification, and susceptibility — reported for clinical decisions, not just the chart.
Bacterial infection is rarely a simple yes/no question. The clinical value of a culture depends on correct sample handling, appropriate media selection, accurate identification, and susceptibility data reported in a form the prescribing veterinarian can actually use. Our bacteriology service is built around those fundamentals.
Detect aerobic bacteria for samples of skin, ear, urinary, and respiratory. The standard aerobic culture identifies common bacterial pathogens shed in feces, including Salmonella and pathogenic E. coli. Results help guide treatment decisions. Results typically available within 24–72 hours.
For cases where Clostridial disease is suspected, anaerobic fecal culture can be added to detect organisms such as Clostridium.
Disks for susceptibility evaluation of 16 additional antimicrobials can be obtained by special request. Contact TDA Labs to discuss panel customization for your specific diagnostic needs.
We take different types of samples from different methods of extraction, please contact us for special requests.
